University of Exeter bucks the trend!
You may have seen in the news that the UK
government will make a significant cut in funding to English
universities in next year’s budget. Universities will
receive a share of a £7.3 billion, representing a reduction
of £537 million compared to the previous academic year.
However, Exeter’s grant is actually up! and
by 3.7% to £66.2 million.
This is a result of Exeter’s growth and
research performance, and represents the highest rise
amongst all the Russell Group and 94 Group universities.
Further evidence of Exeter’s strength can be
seen in the appointment of 100 new academic staff (at a time
when some other institutions are considering redundancies)
and our investment in an ambitious £275 million building
programme for world-class new facilities.
